Verizon Settlement: See If You Qualify for Up to $100 Cash Back

Millions of Verizon customers may be eligible for cash payments as part of a $100 million class action settlement over hidden administrative fees charged between January 2016 and November 2023.

The lawsuit claimed Verizon added “administrative” and “telecommunications recovery” charges without clearly disclosing them in plan pricing.

Verizon denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid further legal costs and provide compensation to affected customers.

Why It Matters

This settlement shines a spotlight on hidden junk fees and strengthens consumer protections. Regulators like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have both increased scrutiny on billing transparency.

Even if you don’t get a payout, Verizon has committed to making its bills and contracts clearer to avoid future hidden fees.
